Who was Lorenzo Bozano? What was he accused of, and how substantiated were these accusations against him?

The disappearance of Milena Sutter
Milena Sutter, 13 years old, disappeared in Genoa on Thursday, May 6, 1971, after leaving the Swiss School she attended.
Her lifeless body was found two weeks later, on Thursday, May 20, off the coast of Priaruggia beach in the eastern part of Genoa.
The only person officially suspected and investigated was Lorenzo Bozano, 25 years old.
Journalists nicknamed him “The Thin Blond Boy with the Red Sports Car”. He was neither blond nor thin.
Acquitted in 1973 in the first trial, Bozano was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1975, in the appeal trial.
Lorenzo Bozano always professed his innocence. He passed away on the Island of Elba due to a sudden illness on June 30, 2021.
You can find the complete story of this criminal case, with unpublished details, on the blog/magazine in Italian: Il Biondino della Spider Rossa®.

The dignity of the “person Lorenzo”
“The podcast is in no way a plea of innocence for Lorenzo Bozano,” emphasizes Maurizio Corte, who teaches Intercultural and Multimedia Journalism at the University of Verona.
“I don’t know whether Lorenzo played a role in that tangled affair or not,” clarifies the podcast’s author. “What is certain is that he found himself thrown into an infernal circle, much larger and more complex than what a young man like him, full of great hopes but lacking in facts, could manage.”
“I wanted to analyze, with a scientific method, the narrative about Lorenzo Bozano and the case of Milena Sutter,” notes Corte.
“I aimed to restore human dignity to the person-Lorenzo, on whom newspapers, magistrates, and judges have passed judgments unworthy of a civilized society,” highlights the author of the podcast The Perfect Culprit (Il Colpevole Perfetto).

A human drama that deserved different treatment
“Given the current climate, any of us could find ourselves in Lorenzo Bozano’s place,” underscores journalist Maurizio Corte, who specializes in media analysis.
“There is one thing I cannot accept: the fact that someone embellished a shocking human drama, that of Milena and her family, with false narratives. This drama deserved a much more thorough investigative and judicial effort,” emphasizes Corte.
The Perfect Culprit: The Misguided Story of Lorenzo Bozano and Milena Sutter (Il Colpevole Perfetto. La storia sbagliata di Lorenzo Bozano e Milena Sutter) podcast is produced by the cultural association ProsMedia and the news agency Corte&Media.
